Abstract

1309931 Reeling and steaming textiles; skein winders CROON & LUCKE MASCHINENFABRIK GmbH 10 March 1970 [25 Aug 1969] 11524/70 Headings D1J and D1L Hanks of yarn are removed from a reeling machine by a stripping ring which surrounds the reel frame, means being provided to move the ring from one end of the frame to the other thus displacing the finished hanks. As described the hanks are displaced on to a shaft of a transporting truck so that they can be conveyed to a steaming machine. As shown in Figs. 1 and 5 the reeling machine has a reel frame 5 carried on a shaft 6 mounted in a bearing 7. The frame members 5' are connected to the shaft by links which enable the diameter of the frame to be increased or decreased. The hank transporting truck 2 consists of a wheled chassis 15 on which is rigidly supported a tube 12. When the hanks 27 are of the prescribed weight, the winding is stopped and the truck 2 is positioned in line with the reeling machine shaft as shown in Fig. 4 with the tube 12 passing through the hanks. The diameter of the frame 5 is reduced by actuating the link mechanism and the hanks are pushed off the frame onto the tube by advancing a stripping ring 29 having inwardly projecting spokes 62 which engage the last hank. The ring 29 is carried by a slide 44 engaging a bar 43 disposed parallel to the frame shaft 6. The hanks are carried on the truck to a steaming machine 3. This machine consists of a casing closable at one end by a door 83 and from the opposite end of which project two vertically spaced perforated steam pipes. The tube 12 is slid upon the uppermost of the pipes whereupon a stop 95 is lowered to engage the last hank so that when the truck is withdrawn the hanks are left hanging from said uppermost pipe. After the hanks have been steamed they are pushed off the pipe into a container by advancing an ejector device 116. (For Figures see next page)
