Abstract
1306251 Rotary positive-displacement pumps AIRBORNE MFG CO 29 Jan 1970 [31 Jan 1969] 4324/70 Heading F1F In a pump similar to that disclosed in Specification 1113478 the profile of the inner surface of the stator S is modified so that the maximum stresses in the vanes 16 due to radial acceleration and bending caused by friction at said surface do not occur simultaneously. The profile is described in detail with reference to Figs.7 to 11 (not shown). Each vane may be armoured as described in Specification 1181598. An end plate 14 is urged towards the rotor R by a spring 31 and fluid pressure in an outlet chamber 23 and is prevented from turning by lugs 36 on an end cover B abutting the stator. Ports 29 in said plate allow outlet passages 28 in the stator to communicate with said chamber. Similar ports in an end plate 13 permit communication between inlet passages 24 and an inlet chamber 21. Slots 25, 27 in the stator connect the working spaces to said passages.
