Abstract
1,016,325. Rotary vacuum-pumps. SUDAVIATION SOC NATIONALE DE CONSTRUCTIONS AERONAUTIQUES. Feb. 10, 1964 [Feb. 21, 1963], No. 5496/64. Heading F1F. In an oil-sealed rotary vacuum-pump of the outwardly-sliding radial-vane type, lubricating oil trapped in a space 8 between a pair of diametrically-opposed vanes 5, 5a escapes through channels or passages 16, 17 formed in the leading face of each vane such that when the rotor rotates they cannot communicate with a suction space A and conduit 9. The vanes are pressed outwardly by a compression spring 7 lodged in said space; and bearings 3 for the rotor are fed with lubricating oil through ducts 13 by a tank 12 situated above an outlet valve 11. Passages 16, 17 may be replaced by narrow channels 23, 24 (Figs. 6, 7, not shown) in a T- formation on the leading face of each vane. Alternatively, channels 27, 28 (Figs. 8, 9, not shown) may be formed in the end faces of each vane, or a radial bore 30 (Figs. 10, 11, not shown) may be provided in each vane with its outer end communicating with an axiallyextending channel 31 in the leading face of the vane.
