The corrugations of one ring may be in phase (Fig. 5) or out of phase (Fig. 6, not shown) with those of the other ring(s). In the case of three or more rings, the web may (Fig. 8, not shown) or may not (Fig. 9, not shown) radially correspond. There may or may not be the same number of webs for each adjacent pair of rings in the disc. The rings may have a different number of corrugations. In a valve, 5 concentric two-ringed spring discs may be used (Fig. 7, not shown), the number of webs to each disc increasing with disc diameter. In the combined suction and pressure valve of Fig. 1, the valve discs of the suction valve 5 (four separate rings) are acted on by a four-ring spring disc 7 (Fig. 3, not shown) and the valve discs of the pressure valve 6 (two separate rings) are acted on by a two-ring spring disc (Fig. 2, not shown).
