Abstract

1,221,761. Friction clutches. BARKASWERKE VEB. 2 Jan., 1969, No. 241/69. Heading F2C. In a friction clutch having a diaphragm spring 1 with radially inwardly directed tongues 2, the inner ends 3 of the tongues 2 are maintained in contact with an abutment flange 5 on a disengaging thrust ring 4 to prevent chatter and wear by circumferentially spaced tongues bent out of the spring into recesses 6 in the thrust ring 4. As shown the bent tongues react against a ring 7 to hold the other tongues against the flange 5. In Fig. 2 (not shown) the recesses 6 have circumferential extensions (9) in which the bent tongues are engaged by rotating the thrust ring 4 relative to the diaphragm spring 1. When assembled projections (10) on the thrust ring (4) engage between the spring tongues (2) to prevent further relative rotation.
