1297097 Twist-limiting apparatus ZINSER TEXTILMASCHINEN GmbH 19 April 1971 [27 Feb 1970] 22729/71 Heading DID A false twisting apparatus for continuously imparting a false twist to a continuously moving thread includes a single freely rotatably mounted twist-limiting roller 26 round a part of the circumference of which a continuously moving thread 1 is guided, the roller 26 having a thread guiding groove 39 extending around its circumference; the flanks of the groove 39 being formed by back portions of mutually interengaging radial lugs 38, 38' that are directed towards the circumference of the groove 39 and are inclined towards a plane at the centre of the groove 39 parallel to the plane of the roller 26 so that the back portion of each lug 38, 38' cuts the centre plane of the groove 39, and an intermediate space, which can be freely bridged by the thread, is defined between each pair of adjacent lugs 38, 38'. A projection 44' on a rotatably adjustable stationary disc 44, which is mounted concentrically with the freely rotatable roller 26, carries a thread guide 46. Rotary adjustment of the position of the guide 46 about the axis of the disc 44, in conjunction with a positionally fixed thread guide 48, permits adjustment of the angle of arc a over which the thread 1 engages the groove 39. The back portions of the lugs 38, 38' may be of angled or squaredoff shape as shown, or may be rounded off (Fig. 6, not shown).
