Abstract

1294918 Dry shaver head SPERRY RAND CORP 1 July 1970 [4 Aug 1969] 31894/70 Heading B4B An electric dry shaver head comprises an outer cutter and an inner cutter which has a body portion and a plurality of cutter teeth formed on the body portion, each of the cutter teeth having a cutting edge and an arcuate corner portion merging with the cutting edge of the tooth and serving to reduce discomfort during shaving by deflecting away from the cutting edge hair bristles entering a hair entry area provided between said corner portion and the outer cutter. In one embodiment the cutter 16, Fig. 4, is an elongate member of substantially rectangular cross-section adapted for linear reciprocation relative to a fixed outer cutter and provided with teeth 36 having cutting edges 37, 38 and arcuate corner portions 42, 44. In a second embodiment the cutter 51, Fig. 8, is adapted for rotation relative to a fixed outer cutter and has arms 52 carrying cutter teeth 53 with a cutting edge 55 and arcuate corner portions 54.
