Abstract
1291212 Windscreen wipers SWFSPEZIALFABRIK FUER AUTOZUBEHOER GUSTAV RAU GmbH 19 April 1971 [13 March 1970] 23979/71 Heading A4F [Also in Division F2] In a windscreen wiper system comprising a wiper shaft 30 driven by a cable 17 looped around a pulley 29 on the shaft 30 and connected at its ends to a connecting rod 10 reciprocated by a motor (not shown), the pulley 29 carries plates 24 and 25 Fig. 2 (not shown) for guiding an end of the connecting rod 10 having a recess 11 in which the ends of the cable are secured. In a plane perpendicular to the axis of the pulley 29 the edges 16 of the rod 10 engaged by the pulley define part of an ellipse at the focal points of which are located the fixing bolts 12, 13 for the ends of the cable 17. The cable tension is thus maintained substantially constant during operation of the mechanism.
