Abstract

1280617 Windscreen wipers ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 19 April 1971 [13 March 1970] 23818/71 Heading A4F A windscreen wiper drive mechanism comprises a pulley 19 journalled in a frame 26 and connected to a wiper spindle 20, a reciprocable push rod 18 connected to the pulley 19 by a cable 21 wound around the pulley 19 and led away therefrom in opposite directions and fastened to spaced points on the rod 18, and a guide member 27 extending from the frame 26 and over the push rod 18 transversely to guide it in its reciprocation. A modified guide member has a part 30 Fig. 5 (not shown) extending between the side walls 18a of the channel shaped guide rod 18. In a wiper system comprising two wipers the rod 18 is reciprocated by a cable wound on the second wiper spindle 15 Figs. 1 and 2 (not shown) which carries a further pulley driven by a cable secured to a push rod (14) driven by a rotary crank.
