Abstract

1290249 Toothed gearing G TITT 16 Dec 1970 [16 Dec 1969] 59765/70 Heading F2Q Worm-gearing having coaxial input and output shafts 2, 6 is housed in a fixed casing 1 and comprises a frame 5 secured to output shaft 6 and carrying a worm 8, driven through gears 3, 4 from input shaft 2, meshing a worm-wheel 9 secured to a worm 11 having a single row of recirculating balls 13 which mesh a stationary worm-wheel 12 secured to the casing 1. Wormwheel 9 and worm 11 are rotatably mounted on a shaft 10, one end 30 of which is threaded for adjustment purposes. In a modification, two worms 20, 21, Fig. 2, and worm-wheels 22, 23, 26, 27 are arranged in a fixed worm-wheel 12.
