Abstract
1,180,431. Toothed gearing. H. KABURAGI. 6 Feb., 1967 [12 Feb., 1966], No. 5545/67. Heading F2Q. An epicyclic gear comprises an input shaft 1 carrying a worm 2 which meshes planet wormwheels 6 rotatably mounted in a carrier member 4 secured to an output shaft 3, the axes of rotation of the worm-wheels 6 being oblique to the axis of worm 2. The planet gears 6 mesh an internal gear 5 formed on a cylindrical casing 10. In a modification, shown in Fig. 4, two worm gears 2, 2<SP>1</SP> of opposite hand are secured to a driving shaft 1, and planet gears 6, 6<SP>1</SP> mesh the gears 2, 2<SP>1</SP> and separate internal gears 5, 5<SP>1</SP> formed in a casing 10. In this arrangement axial forces are cancelled.
