Abstract

1289013 Air-jet weft inserters VSESOJUZNY NAUCHNO-ISSLEDOVATELSKY INSTITUT LEGKOGO I TEXTILNOGO MASHINOSTROENIA 12 June 1970 [18 July 1969 4 Aug 1969] 28464/70 Heading D1E An air-jet weft inserter comprises an outer casing 1 containing a tube 2 connected at one end to a source B of compressed air and with its free end projecting from the casing 1 and being bevelled so that the far end of the bevel relative to the direction of air flow is closer the reed while the rear end is closer to the fell. The weft inserter is reciprocated in and out of the shed 10 by a rotating shaft 6 via cranks 3, 4. Weft 15 is sucked in sleeve 17 at the end of tube 2 by a suction effect created by a venturi (16), Fig. 4, (not shown) at the outer end of tube 2. The free end of tube 2 may narrow towards the tip thereof (Fig. 3, not shown).
