Abstract

1284337 Bale breakers MAREMONT CORP 16 April 1970 18333/70 Heading D1N A bale breaker comprises a set 12 of mutually independant fibre plucker elements which each individually intersect a minor part only of the bale in a direction transverse to its path of travel. As shown, the pluckers are toothed wheels driven by individual motors each removably mounted below the bale supporting surface. The bales are moved over a first set of pluckers and then over a second set of pluckers 12' in straight or curved paths. The separated fibres are removed via an air duct (84), Fig. 6 not shown.
