Abstract

1278837 Steam traps BABCOCK & WILCOX Ltd 1 Oct 1969 [1 Oct 1968] 48366/69 Heading F4U A trap for draining water from a fuel gas line comprises a chamber 10 having an inlet 11 and an outlet controlled by a float valve 12, 13, 14, which outlet communicates with a second chamber 15 having a water discharge pipe 17 and a gas outlet 19. If the gas line is pressurized and the water level in chamber 10 is low, a defective valve 12, 13, 14 would allow escape of gas from chamber 10 into chamber 15, from which however it would be discharged through outlet 19 rather than pipe 17.
