1,187,407. Liquid/gas separator. G. LANZONI. 20 April, 1967 [23 April, 1966], No. 18234/67. Heading B1M. In an apparatus for separating air and steam bubbles from water in a central heating system prior to returning the water to the boiler, water entering at 2 passes into chamber 1 where none of the steam bubbles condense as the water passes over cylindrical baffle 6 and leaves at 5. Air and the remaining steam bubbles separate from the water and pass inside cylindrical baffle 8 either through aperture 12 or round the bottom edge of baffle 8 and then pass up conduit 18 into chamber 10 where the steam condenses due to expansion and lower temperatures in chamber 10. The water fills chamber 1 and part of chamber 10 up to the level of float 28, and if the level falls below the float 28, valve 25 opens to let water into chamber 10 through pipe 24.
