Abstract

1277308 Sealing rings; pipe joints INTECO ETAB 22 Sept 1969 [24 Sept 1968] 46515/69 Headings F2B and F2G A sealing ring for providing a seal between a pipe, and surrounding concrete, comprises sealing lips 9, the angle a between a side 4 of the ring and its axis being between 30 and 60 degrees. The sealing ring diameter is between 6 and 10% less than the diameter of the pipe so that when the ring is drawn on, the lips 9 are spread and the surfaces 7 of the lips form an angle #, greater than 90 degrees. The ring has furrows 10, increasing the surface area in contact with the concrete and consists of elastomeric material having a shore hardness between 30 and 45. The pipe may be made of plastics.
