Abstract

1346921 Joint-making packing; pipe joints HAMILTON KENT MFG CO 19 April 1971 [12 Feb 1970] 24348/71 Headings F2B and F2G A tubular elastomeric seal for a bell and spigot pipe joint is provided with a circumferential hook portion 7 at one end and sealing ribs 9, 10 on both the inner and outer surfaces, the ribs on the inner surface being staggered with respect to those of the outer surface and being of triangular cross-section with the surfaces furthest from the hook portion extending perpendicular to the inner surface. Preferably, the ribs 9 on the outer surface are equilaterally triangular in cross-section.
