Abstract

1,264,827. Reciprocating pumps or motors. INTEGRAL Ltd. June 29, 1970 [June 30, 1969], No.32949/69. Heading F1A. In a swash-plate pump or motor, the radial components of the reaction forces produced by the pistons are reacted by a hydrostatic bearing within an extension 39 of the rotary cylinder block 14, the bearing being symmetrically disposed relative to the centre of convergence P of the radial components. The bearing is formed by a recess 40 between extension 39 and a stationary member 22, liquid under pressure from the high pressure side of the pump or motor being supplied to the recess 40 via filter 35, passage 21 and restriction 23. Liquid from recess 40 passes to casing outlet 13 via bearing 24 and passage 25. A vented sleeve is rotatably mounted on the cylinder block to reduce churning of the liquid in the casing. The swash-plate 19 is supported by part-circular, hydrostatically-balanced bearings 28 formed between the swash-plate and the casing 10 and supplied with liquid from passage 21 via passage 32. A servopiston 37 responsive to output pressure acts against spring 36 to control swash-plate 19. A nutating plate 17 is supported by a spherical surface on extension 39.
