Abstract
1,258,308. Hydrocyclones. T. R. NAYLOR. 16 Feb., 1970 [27 March, 1969], No. 16105/69. Heading B2P. A hydrocyclone comprises a body part 1, e.g. of steel, having a tapering internal space 2 of circular cross-section and releasably connected to a feed head 6 having a cylindrical internal space 7 located above the space 2 and a tangential inlet 6a to the space 7. The body part I has an externally threaded cylindrical portion 3 to which the head 6 is screwed. An externally threaded inlet piece 8 forms an extension of the inlet 6a. An externally threaded vortex finder 10 is screwed into the head 6. An internally threaded apex nozzle 4, e.g. of nylon, is screwed to the small end of the body part 1. The parts 4, 6, 8 and 10 are replaceable so as to vary the diameter of the outlet orifice 5, of the inlet 6a, of the inlet piece 8 and of the vortex finder 10.
