Abstract

982,598. Spray-producers. AUTO-BATH CO. Ltd. July 24, 1963 [July 4, 1962], No. 25680/62. Heading B2F. A nozzle 4 suitable for fitting to water hose pipes in vehicle washing mechanisms comprises a body portion 5 provided with a cylindrical bore 6 having a frusto-conical surface 7 at one end and an axially adjustable insert 8 having at one end a frusto-conical head 10, the largest diameter of which is at or close to the end of the insert, and at the other end a stem 9 having an axial bore 11 communicating with the bore 6, said head 10 being provided with a series of radial slots 14 at the largest diameter port thereof. The insert is axially adjustable within the body portion by means of a screw thread and water forced through the bores 6 and 11 reaches the frusto-conical outlet and the slots 14 via radial passage at the waist 13 of the insert. A plurality of the nozzles may be provided in a system of pipes arranged to surround a vehicle to be washed.
