Abstract
1453853 Liquid fuel furners ISHIKAWAJIMA - HARIMA JUKOGYO KK 24 Oct 1973 [7 June 1973 20 June 1973] 49605/73 Heading F4T A liquid fuel atomizer comprises a nozzle tip 5 formed with a swirl chamber 7 to which fuel is supplied through tangential passages 6 and having an end wall with an outlet 8 at a downstream end portion of which are provided grooves or projections defining circumferentially spaced obstructions and channels for causing the atomized fuel to be discharged as a plurality of separated jets. In Figs. 1A and 2B grooves 17 generally extending tangentially to the outlet and having a surface extending obliquely to the axis of the outlet, are provided. In a modification the grooves are generally radial. In Fig. 4A, notches 18 are formed in the outlet and defined by a plane extending obliquely to the axis of the outlet and a plane containing the axis.
