Abstract
1,257,819. Writing appliances. G. E. HENDRICKS. 18 Dec., 1969 [9 Jan., 1969], No. 61714/69. Heading B6P. A pen comprises two barrel portions 10, 12 housing a cartridge 14, the barrel portions being held together by a detent 54 which is releasable by sliding a lock member 42 from its locking position as shown, to a release position (Fig. 4). The lock member 42 includes a recess 50 into which the detent 54 is able to enter when in registry with a bore 36 in a portion 34 of the barrel portion 12 and a recess 24 in the barrel 10. The lock member 42 is displaceable against a spring 62 by means of a tool (74, Fig. 4) having a tubular end which is insertable into the tip of the pen coaxially with the tip 60 of the cartridge 14 to engage the end 52 of a narrow portion 48 of the lock member 42. The pen is intended for public use, being connected to a pen holder (70, Fig. 1) through a cable 66.
