Abstract

1,254,133. Bowden mechanism. 12 May, 1969 [16 May, 1968], No. 24154/69. Heading F2K. An end mounting for a Bowden cable sheath 5 comprises a two-part sleeve 1, 2, adapted to be connected to a remote control box, and a thinwalled tubular member 4 connected to the sheath 5 and having a flange 15 which is trapped between the sleeve parts 1, 2 and rotatable relative thereto. The sleeve parts 1, 2 are screwed together, and a further screw-thread is provided on the part 2 for connection to the control box. The tubular member 4 has external helices 14 of large pitch by means of which it is screwed into the sheath 5.
