Abstract

1,245,089. Handles. TONKS (BIRMINGHAM) Ltd. Oct.31, 1968 [Nov.15, 1967], No.51922/67. Heading A4U. A door handle 41 is secured to one of a pair of cover-plates 32 which are slid by means of grooves 31 on to flanges 30 on clamping plates 17, 18 which grip the door at either side by means of screws 21, the cover-plates being prevented from sliding by end flanges 33 on the clamping plates and by the forend plate 37 of a lock which is also secured by the clamping plates. The flanges 33 have stop-plates 34 riveted to them. The handle is of extruded channel form and is secured to the cover plate by screws extending from the door side. There may be no lock incorporated in the handle fixing.
