Abstract

961,352. Suitcase handles. C. W. CHENEY & SON Ltd. Dec. 21, 1962 [Jan. 2, 1962; Oct. 16, 1962; Dec. 1, 1962], Nos. 199/62, 39030/62 and 45561/62. Heading A4G. Handle 21 has a pair of trunnions 23 grooved at 24 and is mounted on a case 40 by a plate 31 with V-section ends 34 inturned at 35 to engage the grooves. Various forms of plate are described and they may be mounted by rivets 41 central or in side wings or by clinched plate tabs. Each trunnion, which need not be oppositely facing, may have a V-shaped staple passing through an individual escutcheon plate. A neat camouflaging cover plate may be secured by friction, indents or leg tabs over a standard mounting plate.
