Abstract

1,223,240. Vibrators. E. BORSUTZKI. 10 Sept., 1969 [13 Sept., 1968], No. 44616/69. Heading F2X. A vibrator particularly for soil compacting machines has a crank pin 13 carrying an eccentric mass 18 and rotatably journalled in the arms of a driven shaft 7, 8. The pin 13 carries a gear 14 which meshes with a gear 15 of the same diameter and mounted on an adjustable stationary shaft 16 so that the vector of the distance of the centre of gravity of the mass 18 from the axis of the shaft 7,8 traverses a maximum and minimum off-set by 180 or 0 degrees for each rotation. Rotational adjustment of the shaft 16 rotates the angle of inclination of the resultant unbalanced force. A plurality of pins 13 each carrying an eccentric mass and rotated by the same gear 15 may be provided. The eccentric mass may be mounted on a further crank pin which rotates about the axis of shaft 7, 8.
