Abstract

1,215,411. Lubricating yarns. LBESONA CORP. 13 Jan., 1969 [16 Feb., 1968], No. 1859/69. Heading D1L. In the treattnent of yam with lubricant by passage of the yarn over a roll 40 which is partially immersed in a liquid supply trough 84, the roll is rotated by interaction of a sprocket 74 on the roll and a driving chain 66 on a fixed frame 12 and the roll and trough are mounted, for withdrawal from the chain (for the purpose of servicing) on a carriage 30 carried by channels 28 running on rollers 26 attached to the frame. The roll and trough may be withdrawn past the position shown after depressing a spring-loaded lever stop 134 and disconnecting pipes 120, and 116. In the operative position (Fig. 2, not shown), carriage 30 is attached to the frame by means of withdrawable bolts 36. The height of liquid in the trough may be varied by tipping the trough about a pivot pin 112.
