Abstract

1,194,060. Knitting-machines. SHIMA IDEA CENTER CO. Ltd. 27 Nov., 1967, No. 53795/67. Heading D1C. A needle bed for a flat machine includes a wear resistant wire 29 extending across the main part 11 of the bed to support the stitches clear of the end of the bed. The wire is supported on one, 22, of three needle slat defining inserts. The wales are kept straight by engagement of the ends 39 of the inserts in the sinker loops. A leaf spring is fixed to one side of the needles, and engages a recess in one of the inserts, to steady the needle movement.
