Abstract

1,134,619. Knitting-machines. EMPISAL (PTY) Ltd. 28 March, 1967 [1 April, 1966], No. 14178/67. Heading D1C. A needle bed for a domestic knitting machine comprises a base 12 having flanges 14, 16 having slots to guide the needles. Cross pieces 24 engaging in further slots in the flanges strengthen the bed and guide the needle butts. The cross pieces are held in place, and the movement of the needles limited by a displaceable slide 28. The cross pieces may be elongated and extend through the slots to provide a comb in place of the comb 34 integral with the base 12.
