Abstract

1,202,818. Knitting. ELITEX-ZAVODY TEXTILNIHO STROJIRENSTVI GENERALNI REDITELSTVI. 4 March, 1969 [5 March, 1968], No. 11383/69. Headings D1C and D1K. A warp knitted structure having pile loops is produced on a warp machine by knitting the structure through a base fabric. The needles 16 of the machine are caused to project between a knocking over comb 4 through a base fabric 20 which is fed between the comb 4 and a series of supporting sinkers 7 held in a comb 6 and between which and a series of pile sinkers 10 held in a further comb 9 the needles project to receive yarn from guide 22. The movement of the guides causes the yarn to extend round the sinkers 10 and form pile loops from which they are cast off as the fabric is withdrawn. The combs 6 and 9 are mutually adjustable to enable the loop length to 'be varied.
