Abstract

1,191,877. Fire-proofing. BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODA-FABRIK A.G. 5 Oct., 1967 [8 Oct., 1966], No. 45452/67. Heading DIP. Cellulosic material is treated with a 5-50% aqueous solution of one or both of the agents I and II: wherein m is 1.0-2.7 and n is 1.0-1.8. The solution may also contain hexamethoxymethylmelamine. The material may absorb 5-50% of agent. The agent is fixed by heating the dried impregnated material for 2-20 minutes at 100-200‹C. The material may be after-treated with hot dilute aqueous alkali metal hydroxide or carbonate. The cellulosic material may be natural or regenerated, may be mixed with non-cellulosic material and may be in the form of fibres, filaments, woven or non-woven fabric, or paper,
