Abstract

1,186,824. Securing plates on shafts. COMMISSARIAT A L'ENERGIE ATOMIQUE. 17 Jan., 1968 [19 Jan., 1967], No. 2508/68. Heading F2U. A one-way coupling arrangement between a plate 1 and a unidirectional shaft 4, the plate being particularly adapted to receive an abrasive device for surface polishing of remotelycontrolled radio-active samples in a hot cell, comprises inclined slideways 8, 9 provided in a shouldered spigot 5 of the shaft and screwingly engageable with corresponding radial pins 3 projecting from the wall of a shaft spigotreceiving bore 2 in the plate. To assemble, the plate is placed on the rotating spigot for entrainment thereby, the spigot screwing into the plate up to abutment of the spigot shoulder 6 with the plate. To dismantle, with the shaft stationary, the plate is unscrewed from the spigot.
