The pump of a dishwashing machine is mounted in the washing chamber, and comprises two relatively rotatable members adapted to co-operate to pump the washing liquid; one member is driven by a motor and the other member is a liquid distributing member driven by the first member partly by the fluid coupling set up between the members by the washing liquid in the pump and partly by a slipping frictional coupling between the members.
