Abstract

1,181,043. Cartridges. B. R. W. MOLDEUS. 21 Sept., 1968, No. 44978/68. Heading F3A. Cartridge for barrage defence purposes comprising a cartridge case 1 and a projectile 5 having a fuze 9 which, at a predetermined height, ignites a propellant in a chamber 8, the combustion gases from the propellant passing through a perforated disc 7 to eject a plastics composition 6 into the atmosphere through a nozzle 4. A disc 3 protects the nozzle at launching. The plastics composition may consist of a foam plastics which is caused to foam when the composition is ejected through the nozzle. The plastics may contain solids to increase its barrage effect and reflect radar.
