Power cultivation of land; ploughs. - A frame a extending across the stretch of land to be cultivated and carrying chains or cables drawing cultivating-implements such as ploughs l is mounted on wheeled carriages d, e situated each side of the stretch, and is moved along the stretch by drums on the carriage winding up cables fixed d to stationary anchors q. The carriage d carries a motor f which drives the shaft of the pulley or the chain wheel for the rope or chain hauling the plough l, and also the drum o round which the cable p attached to the anchor is wound. At the other side of the field, the pulley round which the rope or the chain passes transmits power to the drum winding up the other cable p'. The ploughs are carried by spring pressed-cranked arms so as to yield when an obstacle is encountered.
