Abstract

1,175,459. Dry shavers. INVENTA TRUST REG. 9 May, 1967 [27 Oct., 1966], No. 21465/67. Heading B4B. A shaving head for an electric shaver comprises a cutter head 5 movable longitudinally and having cutter blades 10 which are pressed by springs 13 against an apertured shaving plate 6 clamped on a frame 4 which is rockable about an axis 3-3 parallel to the longitudinal axis of the cutter head, the rocking movement being effected by the same motor which causes the longitudinal movement of the cutter head, the frequency of the longitudinal movement being a multiple of the frequency of the rocking movement, the springs 13 also acting on the frame 4 so that the cutter head may participate in the rocking movement of the plate 6, and the cutter head being driven from the shaft 17 of a rotating motor by way of a coupling 18, 19 which allows a mutual movement of the cutter head and shaft 17 transversely to the direction of longitudinal movement of the cutter head. The cutter head is pivotally connected to the frame 4 by means of bearing pins 11 slidable in bushes 12. The plate 6 is clamped at each side on an auxiliary cage 22 which is secured detachably to the frame 4 by means of a pivot or a snap lock 23 on one side and a snap lock on the other side. The cutter blades (10), Fig. 3 (not shown), are arranged obliquely relative to the longitudinal axis of the cutter head and the shaving apertures (7), which are oblong, of the shaving plate (6) are arranged in rows extending perpendicularly to the axis of the cutter head.
