Direct air-pressure apparatus, non-automatic valves for pressure fluid, actuation of; valves for pressure fluid, arrangement of. - Relates to apparatus for raising liquids, such as fuel for internal-combustion engines, of the kind comprising a reservoir b, a vessel a communicating with the reservoir by a non-return valve c, a pipe d for periodically admitting pressure fluid to the vessel a, and a pipe h connecting the vessel a to a receiving vessel i; and consists i.n providing the vessel i with an overflow pipe. The pipe h may serve as the overflow, or a separate pipe may be used. The vessel i may be the reservoir chamber of a carburettor. The chamber a is alternately connected to a compressed-air supply and to atmosphere by a rotary cock e, which may be operated by the engine &c. In a modification, the pipe h has a non-return valve.
