Abstract

116,386. Liebert, H. A. E. July 4, 1917. Stamping; tube expanders and flangers. - In stamping a flange on the end of a metal tube, such as an exploder-container tube, the die is placed in a bath of salt, lead, &c., which is heated so as to keep the work at a bright-red heat. The salt &c. is contained in a refractory vessel c contained in a casing a with an annular space d around it, and is heated by a Bunsen burner e. The final shape is given to the flange when cold by a finishing die i, Fig. 4.
