Abstract
1,162,490. Heating air. D. HODGSON. 6 Sept., 1966 [10 June, 1965], No. 7810/69. Divided out of 1,161,483. Heading F4S. In a space heating system, the flue pipe 26 of a solid gaseous or liquid fuel fired appliance 25 such as a convector stove or a hot water boiler is encircled by a tubular coil 15 through which air is blown by a fan (12, Fig. 1) and thereby heated, the heated air being delivered subsequently through grilles to the rooms of a building. There may be more than one coil in the system, which may be connected to more than one flue gas source, and the air is passed through a filter (13) before entering the coil. The coil or coils 15 may be made of ceramic material for industrial applications operating at a relatively high temperature.
