A solid fuel domestic heating system ineludes a down-draught fireplace 10, as in Specification 907,989, and a flue outlet 11 connected to an exhaust blower 26 via one or more radiators 25 or similar heat exchangers. The exhaust blower is driven by an electric motor, which has a heavy flywheel to give even and smooth flow, the motor being under the control of a thermostat.
