A machine for rolling a workpiece 10 to an axially symmetrical shape includes a pair of vertically reciprocal platens 3, 3<SP>1</SP> carrying tools 9, 9<SP>1</SP>, the platens being backed by adjustable supporting rollers 5, 5<SP>1</SP>. The platens are driven by hydraulic cylinders 6, 6<SP>1</SP>, and are synchronized by means of a fixed pinion meshing with racks 8, 8<SP>1</SP> on the platens. Lateral guides along which the platens slide are provided for constraining the platens. Each roller 5 or 5<SP>1</SP> is adjustable by rotation of an eccentric mounting and is lockable in position by a pin.
