Abstract

1,153,085. Railway cycles. BECORIT GRUBENAUSBAU G.m.b.H. 6 March, 1967 [16 March, 1966], No. 10409/67. Heading B7E. A cycle frame 11 and 12 supporting a seat 13 and a chain wheel 15 is itself supported by closely positioned pairs of wheels such as 7 and 8 from an I-sectioned monorail 1. The weight of the rider and cycle causes the frame to pivot and wheel 8 to press down on the lower flange 3 of the rail and the wheel 7 to press upwardly on the flange 2. In Fig. 2 (not shown) pairs of wheels are provided on each side of the web of the rail and one pair may be pivoted away from the rail on a member (6) to release the cycle. The member 6 is normally fixed by engaging a bolt in a hole (21). The rear end of the cycle may be supported by a set of wheels 19 and a spring 17 limited by means 18. Brake shoes 22 may be applied by a lever 23 and the single rail may be replaced by two parallel rails spaced apart either horizontally or vertically. The rail or rails may moreover be floor mounted.
