Abstract

1,148,753. Dozers. CATERPILLAR TRACTOR CO. 31 May, 1966 [2 Aug., 1965], No. 24099/66. Heading E1F. A dozer assembly has a brace structure extending in from each of the pair of vertically swingable, blade-carrying arms 14 connected both directly to and indirectly through tilt braces 19, 20 to a dozer blade 12. The brace structures are connected to each other as well as to the blade centrally of the blade. Each structure comprises two convergent struts 20, 21 or 22, 23 so pivotally supported on the associated arm 14 that the forward strut 21 or 23 of the structure lies immediately behind and substantially parallel to the blade 12 and is integrally joined with the associated strut 20 or 22 at the convergence of the struts. The connectors 26, 28 of the struts of each brace structure are connected to each other through a universal ball joint and one connector 28 is pivotally supported by a linkage 36 from the back of the blade. Preferably at least two of the struts are so constructed that the lengths thereof can be adjusted.
