Abstract

1,146,334. Warm air heaters. CHARLES PORTWAY & SON Ltd. 31 May, 1967 [22 April, 1966], No. 17696/66. Heading F4V. In a warm air heater the bars 5 of the outlet grille are shielded from the warm rising air by curved baffles 7 which deflect the air. The bars 5 are of inverted channel section and may have tubes 8 therein connected to ambient air so that a flow of cool air around the bars 5 further reduces their temperature. The tubes may be perforated to provide air outlets and a fan may pressurize the ambient air supplied to the tubes. The tube ends may be joined to form a single opening to ambient air, or the tubes may be omitted and holes in the outside casing of the heater form air inlets.
