Abstract

1,145,182. Knitting-machines. WILLIAM COTTON Ltd. 28 March, 1967 [16 April, 1966], No. 16767/66. Heading D1C. A yarn take-up device in a straight-bar machine comprises two plates 15, 16 spring urged together and displaceable along the yarn path, and between which the yarn may be clamped. Plate 15 is fixed to a horizontally shiftable slide 17, and longitudinal relative displacement between the plates prevented by pin 19. The upper plate is raised by slide 27a mounted by a pin 28 and inclined slot 29 connection on a fixed support 24 and engaging the depending sides 16e of the plate. The slides are cam operated in timed relation to the knitting cycle so that the yarn may run free, or may be gripped.
