Abstract

1,136,279. Driving auxiliary apparatus. ATKINSONS OF CLITHEROE Ltd. 16 Aug., 1967, No. 38747/66. Addition to 1,055,361. Heading B7H. [Also in Divisions A1 and G3] In a vehicle as described in Specification 1,055,361, the tachometer generators are replaced by pulse pick-ups, the servo valve being operated in accordance with the difference between the magnitude of signals from the respective pick-ups. When the vehicle starts, rotation of propeller shaft 14 causes pulses to pass to control unit 15 from pick-up 12, a current signal being transmitted to solenoid 16 which opens the servo valve and starts the hydraulic motor. The conveyer is set in motion and causes pick-up 13 to feed signals to the control unit 15, equilibrium being reached when the vehicle moves at a steady speed and the servo valve is positioned so that the conveyer speed is in a desired ratio to the road wheel speed.
