Abstract

1,134,168. Spray-producers. HOERBIGER VENTILWERKE A.G. 13 March, 1967 [18 March, 1966], No. 11628/67. Heading B2F. An atomizer suitable for spraying a liquid lubricant comprises a head 2 having a passage 4 for the flow of compressed air, and a container 1 for the lubricant, a spring tongue member 16 being located in the passage 4 so that the effective cross-sectional area of the passage is varied according to the pressure of the air supply. The lubricant is supplied to the passage 4 via a riser tube 9, a passage 11 in a drip cowl 3, and a further passage 14. One end of the spring is bent to form a lug 18 and terminates adjacent the outlet of the passage 14. The container is pressurized through a duct 5 and a valve (15), fig. 2 (not shown) controls the flow of lubricant. The passage 4 is of square cross-section and the spring 16 is generally rectangular. In a modification, fig. 3 (not shown) the spring is formed with two prongs (19), (20), the prong (19) being pivoted about a pin (21) located obliquely across the passage 4.
