Abstract

1,255,385. Spray producers. AFA CORP: OF FLORIDA. 30 May, 1969 [31 May, 1968], No. 27518/69. Heading B2F. An atomiser head adapted to be fitted to a resilient flexible container or squeeze bottle having a liquid reservoir 40 and an air dome 66 above the liquid, comprises mixing chamber 44, an air inlet passageway 64 communicating with the chamber, an outlet passage 48 having an opening communicating with the chamber, a liquid conduit 58 communicating with the chamber and with liquid in the container, said liquid conduit having an outlet positioned with respect to said air passageway so that when the container is squeezed air passing through the air passageway will impinge on and partially nebulize liquid emerging from the liquid conduit, said chamber containing a nebulizing screen 52 positioned across the flow of liquid-air mixture whereby the liquid is further nebulized. The liquid conduit may be provided with a wick 60 and/or ball valve to prevent outflow of the liquid if the container is inverted. An air value 50 may be provided for pressure equalisation when the container is released.
