Abstract

1,128,404. Cotters. M.L. AVIATION CO. Ltd. 13 June, 1967 [7 April, 1966], No. 15676/66. Heading F2H. [Also in Divisions B3 and E2] A fastener or retaining pin has a metal shank 1 with an axial slot in which a resilient element 2 is secured by inward deformations 24 of the walls of the slot. The shank is preferably of stainless steel and the element 2 is preferably U-shaped with outward projections 7, and stamped from stainless steel plate. For checking clearances, the head 11 of the shank is of slightly larger diameter than the body of the shank which has a tapered end 27.
