Abstract

1,091,716. Two stroke engines. ATELIERS DE LA MOTOBECANE. June 9, 1966 [June 16, 1965), No.25823/66. Heading F1B. [Also in Division F2] In a two-stroke internal combustion engine having fuel/oil lubrication the crank-shaft 4 is supported in a first bearing 5 adjacent the single crank-web 3 and a second bearing 6 remote therefrom, a passage 10 in the crank-case 16 opening adjacent one side of the second bearing 6 and a passage 15 in the crank-shaft 4 opening adjacent the other side. In the Figure, passage 10 opens into cavity 11 between the bearings. A seal 20 prevents short-circuiting of fuel-oil mixture through ball bearing 5, the bearing 5 being lubricated by mixture passing between the crank-web and the crank-case wall. Axial passage 15 has a radial branch 14 opening between needle bearing 6 and a seal 12.
